Our superb slave Beauty, who handles the Newsletters and the website, is also our resident chocolustier. Every year, for Valentine’s Day, she presents an afternoon chocolate workshop followed by a tasting of the year’s best chocolates; Gold Medal winners from around the world. We follow that with an evening party. The lecture, with a slide presentation, covers where the magic bean is grown, how it is processed, what to look for as terms of quality, who the current best makers are around the globe, and much more miscellany, then with new knowledge, we taste. My favorite aspect of beauty’s talk: in addition to all we learn, the lecture is done in the dungeon, with beauty wearing only her apron! That is as delicious as the chocolates we taste.
The facts: The tasting is from 3 to 5. Any left-over chocolate will be smeared on one lucky slave, to be removed in the most appropriate ways. No napkins allowed. Then the back to wherever you are staying, dinner and get ready to party break, from 5 to 8. At 8, we gather again and head back to the dungeon for an evening of party. By the way, if you have ever wondered if chocolate really is an aphrodisiac, this party will provide your answer. Tribute for the tasting is $50 a person. The party is $125 a couple, $350 an individual. We recommend you attend both the tasting and the party; they go so well together. We will accept one individual for the Party Plum Position; that is $750. I MISSED MY 30TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY!
I hear it was an amazing soiree. Due to a medical emergency, I was unable to participate. To all who asked and wondered, thank you for your concerns and well wishes. The emergency surgery seems to have gone fine, and I am on the path of full recovery.
People came from Puerto Rico, Vancouver, New Orleans and all over the northeast. Many brought delicious dishes for the potluck dinner. The Satyrday play went late into the night and I am told the Sinday brunch at Rain was a delicious success. Lady Do and Master Gary and the rest of the La D crew handled the complexities with all the skill and love one would expect. Thank you thank you thank you Lady Do and welcome back Master Gary. We always expect at least one epiphany moment per party. I am told there were at least three epiphanies, perhaps even more. Now that’s a party!
A very special 30th anniversary thank you goes to slave beauty. WOW what a cake she baked! Everyone commented on the cake, and now they are signing up for her chocolate tasting. As sick as I was, I made sure I had (a very small taste of) cake! Again: WOW!

This Newsletter would not be complete without a thank you to our Mistress in Training Lili. I casually mentioned that I would love to see our library all Dewey Decimaled. Three months, and three hundred and fifty books later – voila! Now that was a labor of love! It also means we now have a listing of what is in the library; available to anyone who requests the list.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
In about a month, expect the listing for the Spring Couples Parties. If there is a Guest Mistress or Master you would like to suggest, now is the time to do that. The 1500 + tulips should be blooming by mid-May. Come and visit.
